Motor vehicle revenue and sale of vehicles gain momentum in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, July 21: Motor vehicle revenue has picked up during the month of June, with collection of Rs 96 crores against 112.7 crores collected in June 2019. The revenue decreased by 14.8 percent in real terms. This is quite encouraging considering the fact that several parts of the state are either in lock down or shut down almost throughout the quarter. “Rs 159.8 crores have been collected in the quarter April to June against collection of Rs 384 crores in April-June 2019. 2019. There is 58 percent fall in revenue collection for the quarter,” said an official Sale of vehicles have also picked up in June with sale of 43000 vehicles despite lockdown. “About 29000 vehicles have been sold till July 20. During the month of May as many as 15000 vehicles were sold,” added the official.
