Bhubaneswar, June 4: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting continued hot and humid conditions across several parts of Odisha through June 9.
According to the IMD’s midday bulletin, uncomfortable weather is expected to prevail, particularly in coastal regions such as Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Jagatsinghpur. Isolated heatwave conditions are also likely to affect parts of Balasore, Puri, and Bhadrak between June 5 and 8.
Agro-climatologist Surendranath Pasupalak highlighted the erratic pattern of the South-West Monsoon in Odisha, stating that as per the USA model’s forecast, Odisha, along with neighbouring states and parts of Central and North India, are expected to experience intense heat. As of May 28, the Monsoon has shown no advancement.
Consequently, Odisha is likely to face its hottest days of the year between June 7 and 10.

June 5:
Hot and humid conditions are very likely at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Heatwave conditions are expected at one or two places in Balasore and Puri.
June 6:
Similar hot and humid weather is forecast for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Heatwave conditions are likely in Balasore, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, and Bhadrak.
June 7:
Hot and humid weather is predicted at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
June 8:
Conditions will remain largely the same, with high humidity and heat expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
