
Kishorenagar, Oct 13: While world famous Dhanu Yatra, the biggest open-air mythological theatre played in Odisha’s Bargarh is awaiting a heritage tag, a mock Dhanu Yatra in Khandahata-Pipalbahala village under the Kishorenagar block limit in the Angul district, became an additive extravaganza during this Gajalaxmi Puja.
The Khandahata-Pipalabahala Gajalaxmi Puja Committee here meticulously organised a full-fledged Dhanu Yatra alongside worshiping the deity of wealth & wellbeing in the rural suburb.
While, the dramatic episodes of Kansa Darbar, Mathura and Gopa Nagari were performed earlier, on the significant 7th day, local dramatists staged the episodes of Kansa Chitau and ordeals & concerns of Gopa-Gopikas wreaked by Bala Krisha outraging the lass’, tearing donned apparels.
The mightiest King Kansa while heared the concerns of Gopies and their subsequent complaints lodged physically in the Kansa Darbar, turned fiercely red and urged Akrura, the royal minister & messenger, to summon Krishna-Balaram duo depose before his court.These colourful and electrifying episodes performed on an amphitheatre beside the Laxmipuja pandal, enthralled thousands of people creating a mesmorising replication of the real Dhanu Yatra, traditionally hosted in Odisha’s Bargarh.
On the other hand, in the Ghosara village wherein all apparent rituals and episodes of ‘Gopapura’ were being performed, staged the ‘Nabakeli’ where Lord Bala-Krishna, his peers & friends along with scores of Gopis, found enjoing maritime merriments in the Yamuna water, a few kilometres away from the Kansa Darbar i.e Mathura Pura set at the Khandahata-Pipalabahal scene.
Joining the occasion as royal invitees, Odisha former Health Minister & Deputy Leader of Opposition (Dy.LoP) Prasanna Acharya,Athamallik Legislator Nalinikanta Pradhan, MLA Talcher Brajakishor Pradhan, MLA Deogarh Romancha Ranjan Biswal, Ex-MLA Pallahara Mukesh Pal, News7 Deputy Editor & ace anchor Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, social activist Meera Parida, Sarpanch, Dhaurapali GP Sanjit Kumar Sahu and Sarpanch, Raniakata GP Sulochana Pradhan, underlined the cultural significance of Dhanu Yatra festivity and the role of Kishornagar area in upkeeping the rich tradition & folk tales of Western Odisha.
Amid the mythological dance dramas, child artists Arpita Priyadarshini Sahu and Saishree Dehury performed contemporary duets while ace litterateur Sangram Keshari Prusti co-ordinated the show acting as a humourous jester.
With the curtain came down, former Presidents of the Laxmipuja Committee, Padman Pradhan & Jatindra Pradhan, and Secretary Motilal Pradhan were felicitated by King Kansa, for their commendable jobs.
