Sundargarh, May 8: Sundargarh district administration has set a mission ‘Break the Chain’ to contain Corona spread. Accordingly, different institutions of the district administration including the urban bodies, rural panchayatraj institutions, health department and police have been united to fight Corona with public cooperation. District Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan has appealed people to stay safe at home during the lockdown. He has assured them home services on emergencies. At the same time women self help groups are assigned to deliver essential commodities at the doorsteps. Similarly, Rourkela Municipal Corporation has taken up many precautionary measures to contain Covid-19 infection in the city. As many as 84 Rapid Response Teams are working in the district to collect particulars of the home quarantine patients. Wide mass awareness is on to sensitize people on Corona. A 24x7 helpdesk is sourcing information on vaccination and testing. On the other hand, district health team is conducting RTPCR testing and vaccination throughout the district. Police vigil has been intensified in the district in order to enforce lockdown in Rourkela steel city, Sundargarh town and in the suburbs. As many as 18 check points have been set up to watch on the defenders amid lockdown. The Superintendent of Police also appeals public to abide by the Corona related behavior and the lockdown imposed ahead of aggressive Covid waves.
