Miscreants loot Rs 1.5 lakh cash at gunpoint from bank in Cuttack

Athagarh, Feb 20: Miscreants looted Rs 1.5 lakh at a gunpoint from the Canara Bank branch at Godibanda in Cuttack district today. According to the locals, three men came in one motorcycle while two masked men barged into the bank brandishing their guns and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh from a businessman who had been to the bank for cash deposit. A formal complaint in this connection was later lodged by the bank officials with the Kanpur police station. On being informed, the police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. “We are accessing the CCTV footages and trying to identify the miscreants involved in the crime,” said an official.
