Dhenkanal, May 17: A 16-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious conditions in a bedroom at Anthuguda Kateni village under Gandhi police limits in the district today. The deceased has been identified as Archana Nayak, daughter of Niranjan Nayak of the same village. According to sources, Archana was residing with her step mother in the village. Last night, they went to sleep together in the bedroom but Archana was found lying dead in the morning. The neighbors have accused her stepmother of killing her and said, "There were several injuries marks in her neck which create suspicion of involvement of her stepmother in her death." Meanwhile, a kin of the deceased lodged a complaint at Gandhi police station alleging that Archana was murdered. On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. "The actual reason behind her death can only be ascertained after the post-mortem reports are out," said an official.
