Captain Mishra opens up: Denies connection with Mamita Meher murder case

Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Minister of State for Home, Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra opened his voice relating to lady teacher Mamita Meher murder case on Friday and denied that he has no connection with the case. Accusing some Opposition parties and media houses of being indulged in the smear campaign against him, Mishra said, " If you have an iota of evidence against me in this matter, then please take it to the police or the Courts" " I will not only resign from my position but will also retire from public life"", if the allegations are proved, he dared his opponents. In a statement issued to media in the afternoon,Mishra alleged that opposition political parties and some media houses intentionally are dragging him into Mamita Meher’s murder episode for their personal and political agenda. "It is why, my family has filed civil and criminal defamation suits against three Odia TV Channels", Captain added. {"id":142973,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Denying his involvement with the case he said, he has no connection with the heinous crime. " I am an ex-defense personnel, a responsible public representative and a sensitive father as well", he said. Explaining his silence despite a lot of political hullabaloo on the matter, he said that he felt it morally unfair to comment on such a delicate and sensitive issue.
