Mild earthquake hits Jammu&Kashmir

Kashmir, Jan 1: A mild earthquake measuring 5.1-Richter has hit Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday. Following this, panic gripped the valleys for long in the evening. Sources said the earthquake was centered at the Afghanistan-Tajikstan Border on Saturday evening at 6.45 pm. Tremors were felt in J&K's Poonch and other areas around the Line of Control. The National Center for Seismology in its Official Twitter handle said, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.1, Occurred at 18:45:24 IST, Lat: 36.53 & Long: 71.18, Depth: 204 Km, Location: 84km SE of Fayzabad, Afghanistan.
