Mercury touches 45°C at Boudh, 8 places record max temp above 44°C

Bhubaneswar, April 28: Odisha continued to reel under intense heatwave as 25 places recorded 40 degree Celsius or more on Thursday. The Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar said that as many as 13 places recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius while eight places recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius. Boudh was the hottest place on Thursday with a maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius followed by Deogarh and Jharsuguda which recorded maximum temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius. “ There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 3 days and slight decrease about 2°C in subsequent two days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature very likely to be more than 40°C and it is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C at many places over districts of interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 °C at a few places of coastal Odisha during next 3 days. People are advised to take precautionary measure while going outside during day time between 11 AM to 3 PM during next 3 days,” said a Met official.
