Meet Gopinath Biswal -Odisha’s oldest postgraduate, proving knowledge knows no age limits

Kendrapara, Nov 11: In a remarkable story from Kendrapara, Gopinath Biswal, an 82-year-old retired teacher from Meghapur village, has made headlines by completing his Master’s degree in Odia from Sambalpur University, becoming Odisha's oldest postgraduate.
A dedicated educator with over 40 years of teaching experience, Biswal began his academic career in 1959 after finishing Class VII.
Despite facing financial difficulties and familial obligations, he pursued his education privately, successfully obtaining both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education degree.
In 2022, fueled by an unwavering passion for knowledge, Biswal decided to enroll in the MA (Odia) program at Sambalpur University. His successful completion of the course serves as a powerful reminder that the pursuit of education transcends age barriers.
Biswal's determination and commitment to lifelong learning inspire others to continue their educational journeys, regardless of their stage in life. His achievement not only highlights the importance of education but also showcases that it is never too late to follow one’s dreams.
