Bhubaneswar, May 9: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has invited bids for the development of a 25 MW solar power plant in Odisha.
The project will be set up across two locations Rampur Colliery in the Orient Area and Samaleswari Open Cast Project (OCP) in the IB Valley Area.
The estimated cost of the project stands at ₹144.06 crore, inclusive of GST. It will be a grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power plant with an additional DC capacity of at least 40% over the 25 MW AC capacity.
The contract duration is set for 4,382 days, which includes 730 days for construction, testing, and commissioning of the plant, followed by 3,652 days for operations and maintenance.
Bidders interested in the project must submit their applications by 19th May 2025, along with an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹50 lakh. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee to ensure timely completion and adherence to project specifications.
This initiative aligns with MCL’s commitment to sustainable energy and its efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of coal operations through renewable energy integration.
