Matric examinations 2020 begins; CM wishes students

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: The annual High School Certificate Examination (HSCE)-2020 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha began today.

A total of 5, 60,905 students are appearing the matriculation examination at 2,888 examination centres across the state.

The matriculation examination will be held from February 19 to March 2 and the State Open School certificate examination will be conducted from February 19 to 29.

Sources said that CCTV cameras have been installed at 1,000 sensitive examination centres. The board has intensified supervision and restricted use of mobile phones in the centres to check malpractice and leak of question papers.

Besides, the BSE has formed 44 special squads while 66 squads have been constituted at different District Education Office (DEO)-level.

Here’s the schedule of the examinations:

February 19: Odia

February 22: English

February 24: Third Language (Hindi/Sanskrit)

February 26: Mathematics

February 28: General Science

March 2: Social Science

The examinations will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on the scheduled days and an extra time of 15 minutes will be allotted to the students for Mathematics examination.

The answer sheets would be evaluated between March 18 and April 10 at 61 evaluation centres across the state.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has wished the students appearing the matriculation examination .

“Best wishes to all children appearing in Class-10 HSC exam. May you all be successful and come through with flying colours,” tweeted Patnaik.
