Massive haul of gold & silver ornaments recovered from burglars in Cuttack

Cuttack, Jan 14: Jagatpur police today arrested five persons involved in burglary of silver ornaments weighing 40 kilograms and gold weighing 400 grams from a jewellery shop in the area on December 5. Police have recovered 385 grams of gold ornaments, 25.5 kg silver ornaments and a gas cutter used in the crime. The accused have been identified as Tapan Kumar Sethi(47), Amulya Kumar Mohanty(42), Ramesh Chandra Sethy(37), Trilochan Sethi(39) and Prafulla Kumar Sahoo(55). Police said that Sahoo was the receiver of the stolen property. “The accused have committed burglary by breaking open the back side wall of the shop. They had decamped with the CCTV hard disk, some valuable documents and pen drive from the shop.
