
Boudh, Sept 2: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics trade, the Purunakatak Police in Boudh district raided a local box shop and seized 78.4 kilograms of ganja on Monday night. The shop owner, identified as Ranjan Sathu (42), was arrested during the operation.
Sources revealed that police had received credible intelligence indicating that the shop owner was allegedly involved in the illegal ganja trade. Acting on the tip-off, a special police team conducted a surprise raid on the premises.
During the search, police recovered 78 kilograms and 400 grams of ganja hidden inside the shop. The accused was taken into custody on the spot and is currently undergoing interrogation.
Confirming the development, Purunakatak Police Station Officer Arun Singh stated that the accused will be produced before the court later today. Further investigation is underway to uncover possible links in the drug supply chain.
