Dharmashala, July 6: A sea of devotees and well-wishers gathered at the Tsuglagkhang temple courtyard in Dharmashala on Sunday to mark the 90th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama. The Tibetan spiritual leader was greeted with heartfelt wishes from across the globe as the occasion drew thousands to the holy site.
Leaders from both India and abroad joined the celebrations, sharing the stage with the Dalai Lama and reaffirming their solidarity with the revered Buddhist monk, who has spent decades in exile in India following China's occupation of Tibet in the 1960s.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on an overseas visit, extended his warm greetings to the Dalai Lama. In a message, he described the spiritual icon as a lasting symbol of love, compassion, patience, and moral strength.
