Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: Amid the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Odisha government today has restricted marriage gatherings at 50 persons and 20 persons for funeral or last rites.
Earlier, the gatherings at marriage functions were allowed for 200 persons while 100 people were allowed for attending funeral/last rites.
The detailed guidelines are as follows:
- No marriage procession shall be allowed.
- Wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing and provision of thermal scanning & use of hand wash or sanitizer shall be mandatory.
- The host of the marriage/ funeral function shall make necessary arrangement for checking at the entry point and ensure wearing of mask by the guests/ others during the entire duration of their participation.Host shall make arrangement to provide masks to those who have not come with appropriate masks.
No congregations of Social Cultural/Political/religious/Academic meetings shall be allowed and activities related to this shall be conducted on virtual mode. Religious rituals in temples/ churches/ Mosques/ places of worship shall be permitted with limited number of priests and staff adhering to Covid safety protocols.The District Magistrates may impose any further restrictions on entry of devotees into such religious places looking at the prevailing situation in the district and in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
