Maoists torch seven tractors engaged in road construction in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Raipur, April 18: The Maoist menace has once again raised its ugly head in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh after the red rebels allegedly torched as many as seven vehicles engaged in road construction in the area late last night.
As per reports, the Maoists were opposing the construction of road under ‘Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana’ at Barsur village in the district.
Due to this, a group of red rebels zeroed in on the construction site and broke the diesel tank, and set as many as seven tractors on fire which were subsequently reduced to ashes.
Later, they fled from the spot.
On being alerted, the security forces rushed to the spot and launched a combing operation.
