Maoists strike police camp in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur, four jawans injured

Raipur, April 18: At least four jawans were critically injured after a police camp in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh came under a Maoist attack late last night.

As per reports, over a hundred red rebels attacked a police camp in the Darbha area under Kutru police limits in the district and opened fire at the security forces, who retaliated triggering an encounter.

Besides, the red rebels also hurled some locally made bombs.

In the encounter which lasted for around four hours, at least four jawans were injured. Later, the Maoists fled from the spot.

Of the injured, two have been admitted to a District Headquarters Hospital in Bijapur while two others were airlifted to Raipur as their health condition showed signs of deterioration.

However, after the attack, the police have launched a combing operation in the area.
