Bhubaneswar, March 16: The results of the Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha were announced on Monday evening, with four candidates emerging victorious in a high-stakes contest that captured the state's political attention.

BJP veteran Manmohan Samal triumphed in securing a seat in the Upper House, marking a key political milestone for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha. Alongside him, BJP’s Sujeet Kumar also emerged victorious, further bolstering the party's representation in Parliament.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Dilip Ray made waves by clinching a victory, a rare feat for non-party contestants in Rajya Sabha elections. His success has sparked considerable interest in political circles, highlighting his strong influence and marking a significant development in the state's political landscape.

From the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Santrupt Misra also emerged victorious, ensuring the continued presence of the regional party in the Upper House.
