Mandeep Singh celebrates his 300th senior international hockey appearance

Indian hockey forward Mandeep Singh achieved a historic career milestone on Thursday by playing his 300th senior international match. He reached this impressive number during India's semi-final game against Pakistan at the 2026 Asian Games in Kakamigahara, Japan. Hockey India officially recognized his long-standing dedication to the national team following the match.

Making his senior debut in 2013 at just 18 years old, Mandeep quickly secured his spot as a central striker after shining in domestic leagues. His early international success began with the Junior World Cup victory in 2016. Since then, he has helped secure consecutive Olympic bronze medals at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.

He also contributed to gold medals at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2025 Asia Cup, along with a silver medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. His impressive collection features silver medals from the 2016 and 2018 Champions Trophy tournaments, plus Asian Champions Trophy victories in 2018 and 2023. Odisha has long supported Indian hockey by sponsoring the national teams and hosting major tournaments, making such individual player milestones resonate deeply within the state's vibrant sporting community.

Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey praised Mandeep for his remarkable dedication. Tirkey noted that reaching 300 caps requires deep commitment and wished the forward continued success in the national jersey.
