Man posing as Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s PA arrested

Bhubaneswar, July 30: Police have arrested a man for allegedly impersonating Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s personal assistant and making calls to the general manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR). The accused, identified as Gopal Satpathy, has been arrested from Delhi. Police said that he will be brought to the State Capital under transit remand. The accused identifying himself as PA to the railway Minister pressurised the General Manager of ECoR for the transfer of railway staff. Besides, Satpathy also tried to influence a railway official for procuring medicines from a particular company. Subsequently, senior railway officials lodged a formal complaint with the Chandrasekharpur police station. Police said that further investigation is continuing to ascertain whether the accused cheated others in a similar fashion.
