Bhubaneswar: In a barbaric accident, a man killed his wife by slitting her throat and then attempted to commit suicide at Paramahala under the Soro Municipality in Balasore district last night.

The deceased woman was identified as Devi Khatul. The accused husband, Sk Mantu, has been admitted to the Soro hospital in a critical condition.

While the reason behind the incident was yet to be known, family feud is believed  to have led to the ghastly incident.

The couple were not in good terms for long, according to reports.
