Man hangs self killing 3-year-old son in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur, Aug 12: A man identified as Pitabasa Bhatra committed suicide after allegedly killing his three-year-old son on Wednesday night. The incident took place at Arjunguda village under Jharigaon police limits last night. Sources said, Bhatra had consumed excessive alcohol last night and locked his wife Bimala Majhi outside of his house. Subsequently, he slept with his minor son inside the room. Meanwhile, he killed his son triangulating his neck with a cloth and hanged self with a saree. Hearing strange howl, Bhatra’s wife Bimala and his elder brother rushed to the spot and found both the bodies in hanging condition. Being informed, Jharigaon police recovered the bodies and sent them for autopsy. A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is underway, said IIC Jharigaon police station Natabara Nanda.
