Man hangs self fearing wife’s death due to his thrash

Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: A man hung himself fearing his wife’s death after thrashing her up in Bhubaneswar. The man who committed suicide has been identified as Pradipta Kumar Patra, a native of Kendupatna under Cuttack district. Police sources said the family of Pradipta, a BSNL employee in Bhubaneswar, was staying at Rangamatia under Mancheswar police limit. Last night, a family spat broke out between Pradipta and his wife Manashi Patra that led to violence later. Pradipta hit Manashi with a stone. As a result, she fell unconscious. Pradipta thought that Manasi had succumbed to his thrash. Losing mental balance, he hung himself from the ceiling fan and died. Alarmed by the locals of Rangamatia, Mancheswar police recovered the hanging body and conducted the post-mortem. In this connection ,an unnatural death (UD) case has been registered with Mancheswar police.
