Phulbani, Sep 22: A POCSO court in Odisha's Kandhamal district on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old girl.
POCSO court judge, Phulbani, also imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 on the convict, Sahadev Mallick.
Failure to pay the amount would attract an additional nine months in jail, according to the public prosecutor.
The court also ordered the District Legal Services Authority to pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the family of the victim.
