Man dies in tusker attack in Keonjhar jungle

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a villager was trampled to death by a tusker in a jungle near Sendhakapa in Keonjhar district early this morning.
The deceased was identified as Palu Nayak of Sendhakapa village.
According to reports, Palu, holding a torch in hand, went to the nearby jungle to collect mushroom during wee hours of Wednesday. However, he came across a tusker, which trampled him to death in the jungle. Later some villagers found his body and informed forest officials.
It is informed that forest officials handed over Rs 40,000 to family of Palu after conducting a preliminary investigation.
