Berhampur, Nov 27: The Badabazar police has arrested a man for allegedly committing fraud worth Rs 4 crore. The accused has been identified as Gupteswar Patnaik. Patnaik allegedly availed loans in names of 16 persons by furnishing forged documents in connivance with a bank manager. Police said that the accused bank manager is absconding. “The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by one Sudhanshu Sekhar Padhi who alleged that Patnaik availed loan on hios name by producing forged documents. Subsequently, we started an investigation and nabbed Patnaik,” said a police official. Police further said that they are also trying to apprehend the bank manager. “ Further investigation is continuing to ascertain the involvement of others in the fraud,” added the police official.
