Mamita’s abduction & murder: Police grill most wanted with co-accused

Balangir, Oct 19: Balangir and Kalahandi police undertook a joint interrogation session to the most wanted after he was nabbed from the Bangomudna area on Tuesday. At the same time the co-accused were also grilled by police in order to crack the mystery of abduction and murder of Mamita Meher, the lady teacher of Sunshine School. Sources said, Balangir police had detained the night watcher of Mahalinga stadium, Gupte Tandi and excavator driver Puskar Bhoi last night. Police quizzed them individually  regarding the missing lady teacher’s abduction. Meanwhile, Tandi informed that an excavation work was going on at late night on October 12. Acting on the clue from the watchman, police had sealed the stadium on Monday for inventory. Then the two were confronted with each other and questioned on the matter. During confrontation, the excavator driver gave a tip off regarding dumping of a body under the stadium. On the other hand, the so called ‘most wanted’ of the kidnap and murder episode, Govind Sahu was also interrogated at night after he was arrested from a sugarcane field under Bangomunda block in the evening. Prime accused Govind Sahu, Principal of Mahlinga +2 College, Ranjit Sahu and one former +3 student will be quizzed  in the third round. Later, all the accused will be confronted and grilled altogether in order to crack the murder mystery, said police.
