Balangir, Nov 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists on Monday staged a protest outside Balangir Collectorate over Mamita Meher murder case.
Seeking justice for Mamita’s family, the party workers demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged connection with Govind Sahu, prime accused in the murder case.
The party workers led by Bolangir MP Sangeeta Singh Deo also demanded a CBI probe into this matter. They shouted slogans against the state government and sought justice for Mamita.
Besides, they blocked the road near Court Chhak and burn effigies of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Ministers Dibya Shankar Mishra, and Pratap Jena.
Worth mentioning, BJP workers staged a black flag protest at MSA Chhak in Bhawanipatna today. The activists raised slogan ‘Naveen, Go Back’ opposing CM’s visit to Kalahandi. Several party members were also detained by the police.
