Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: Congress has decided to observe Odisha bandh on November 12 over Mamita Meher murder. Congress leaders said that the government has been shielding Minister of State for Home, Dibyashankar Mishra. The party demanded to sack Mishra from ministry along with registration of criminal case against Mishra. The party had earlier demanded SIT probe into the murder case. While the schoolteacher went missing on October 8, her remains were exhumed from a pit in a stadium on October 19. The main accused in the case Gobind Sahu was nabbed on the same day after he managed to escape from police custody. Worth mentioning, Mishra in a statement had denied connection with the case. Accusing opposition parties and some media houses of being indulged in the smear campaign against him, Mishra had said, ” If you have an iota of evidence against me in this matter, then please take it to the police or the Courts”
