Mamita Meher murder case: Statements of 2 witnesses recorded before ADJ

Balangir, Sept 30: The Additional District Judge, Kantabanji on Thursday recorded the statements of two more witnesses in connection with Mamita Meher murder case. Mamita’s cousin brother and younger brother appeared before the court to record their statements on the murder case. Sources said that Mamita’s parents, cousin brother Umesh Meher and younger brother Banti Meher were noticed to appear as witnesses. In pursuance of the court order, Banti and Umesh appeared before the court and put forth their accounts. However, Mamita’s parents sought time through their counsel citing illness. Worth mentioning, at least 169 witnesses have already appeared before the court in connection with the Mamita’s kidnap and murder case. The hearing of the case may be soon concluded as most of the witnesses have already appeared, said advocate Durga Prasad Padhy, representing the victim’s side.
