Mamita Meher murder case: BJP Yuva Morcha observes 12-hour bandh in Birmaharajpur

Sonepur, Oct 25: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha on Monday observed 12-hour bandh in Birmaharajpur of Subarnapur district over the death case of lady teacher Mamita Meher.

Seeking justice for Mamita’s family, BJP Yuva Morcha has demanded a CBI probe in the matter. Besides, the party has also demanded the resignation of the Minister of State (MoS) for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra.

The bandh started at 6 am and will be observed till 6 pm.

All the local shops and commercial establishments remained closed during the bandh. Besides, vehicles remained off the road. However, all essential services including medical and health services, media, and examinees were exempted from the purview of the bandh.

Meanwhile, the local BJP Yuva Morcha workers picketed at several key points of Birmaharajpur .The party workers staged protest at the Birmaharajpur chowk and stopped all the vehicles.

Notably, Mamita Meher, a teacher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling of Kalahandi district, was murdered by Govind Sahu. The Prime accused Govind Sahu was sent to jail as his remand ended today.
