Bhubaneswar, January 14:A significant breakthrough has been made in cracking down on road violations in Central Range, Cuttack, as part of the ongoing road safety operation “Jeevan Rakshya.” Special enforcement drives were conducted across seven districts—Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, and Khordha—with a focus on enhancing road safety and compliance with traffic laws.
During the operations, over 7,800 vehicles were checked, and 29 Lakhs were collected in seven districts last week.
The operation concentrated on commercial and heavy transport vehicles, as well as other road users. Key areas targeted included drunken driving, speeding, overloading, the absence of valid documents, helmet and seatbelt violations, and other traffic-related offences. Directed by the Office of the IGP, Central Range, the operation aimed to ensure safer roads and strict adherence to traffic rules.

The operation was conducted without any major law and order issues. In addition to strict enforcement, police teams carried out awareness campaigns, educating drivers and the public on road discipline, the importance of safety gear, and the need for adherence to traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives.
