Low pressure triggers heavy rainfall in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 11: Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal, a low pressure has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal coasts with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid tropospheric levels. It is likely to become more marked during subsequent 24 hours and move west­northwestwards across Odisha. After the arrival of the southwest monsoon on Thursday, the Met had said that the low pressure would trigger widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy and isolated extremely heavy in Odisha till June 14.
