Rourkela, June 3: With a significant lead to the case involving loot of tons of explosive by Maoists, the Sundargarh Police arrested an Explosive vendor on Wednesday.
The licensee warehouse owner in Badgaon, identified as Shravan Agrawal was earlier detained by the police in this connection.
The arrest follows days of intense interrogation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which had earlier detained Agrawal at the Raghunathpali police station in Rourkela as a prime suspect.
The truck driver who was transporting the explosives during the loot, has also been detained, said sources.
The warehouse was earlier sealed by police last week after the huge loads of explosives were reportedly looted by the red insurgents.
The intercepted truck was carrying commercial explosives over 4 tons with as many as 150 packs of Gelatin sticks, to the Banko stone quarry under K. Balang police station limits.
Taking it a major threat for the state, a four-member SIT was constituted, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was also roped in to investigate the case.
Interrogation to the truck driver, detained by police is underway. His statement might open up the mystery shrouded over the sensitive case, hope the investigation agencies.
