Last rites of litterateur Manorama Mohaptra performed in Puri Swargadwara

Puri, Sep 19: The last rites of eminent litterateur,former Editor of the Samaja, Manorama Mohapatra was performed at Swargadwara in Puri on Sunday. The mortal remains of Dr. Mohapatra was consigned to flames with full State honours in presence of noted personalities including District collector, SP and other noted dignitaries. Her eldest son Pradip Kumar Mohapatra offered the last light to late Mohapatra at the pyre. At the same time, the Nation bids heartfelt adieu to the Odia litterateur & veteran journalist at her demise. {"id":137296,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} The senior journalist breathed her last on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Cuttack. She had succeeded Dr Radhanath Rath, her father, as Editor of The Samaja. Before it, she was an Economics Professor. She had received awards from the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi and Odisha Sahitya Akademi for her literary works.
