Last rites of CRPF jawan Prasanna performed with full state honour

Jagatsinghpur: Last rites of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) haviladr Prasanna Sahu was performed with full state honour in Parisikhar in Naugaon area in jagatsinghpur district today. Forty CRPF personnel were killed and five injured in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir after a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying explosives into the bus carrying the jawans. Prasanna is survived with his wife and a daughter and son. Villagers raised slogans like "Saheed Prasanna Amar Rahe". Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and State Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera represented the Central and State Governments, respectively. The jawan's body, draped in tricolour, was brought in a CRPF vehicle to his native village from Bhubaneswar airport. Senior district administration officials were also present during the funeral. Besides Prasanna, another Odia CRPF constable Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur in Nialai area in Cuttack district was also martyred in the terror attack. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Pradhan and Jual Oram, Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma and leaders cutting across party lines paid their rich tributes to the two martyred jawans at the airport.
