For the first time since April 2025, neither Animesh Kujur nor Gurindervir Singh secured a victory on home turf. Racing in front of an enthusiastic Kalinga Stadium crowd, both athletes fell short against international competitors.

South African 21-year-old Tshepo Jason Tayantini claimed first place with a solid time of 10.11 seconds, improving upon his previous personal best of 10.20 seconds. Animesh finished sixth after clocking 10.32 seconds, while Gurindervir took eighth place with a time of 10.39 seconds.

Despite favorable weather following morning showers in Odisha, the sprinters encountered technical difficulties.
