Cuttack, Jan 9: Odisha government has moved the Supreme Court of India on Sunday, in connection with the Kotia border dispute. In a fresh petition, the state has appealed the Apex Court to annul Act 131 of the Constitution and to freeze the Andhra Pradesh-sponsored projects in Odisha territories. Sources said the border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh is subjudice in the Supreme Court. A few weeks ago, the Apex Court had asked both the states to submit relevant documents in support of their possession of the Kotia group of villages. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government created a lot of administrative disturbances in the Kotia area challenging the Odisha government. However, the illegal ventures were foiled by the Koraput district administration. At the same time, the Pollavarum project of Andhra Pradesh progressed a lot despite the Odisha government’s disapproval. Acting on it, in the fresh petition, the state urged repeal of Act 131, by virtue of which the former petition of the Odisha government regarding Kotia was rejected by the Supreme Court in 2006.
