Bhubaneswar: Koraput Congress MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria on Tuesday resigned from the Legislator’s post on grounds of conscience over gangrape and suicide of Kunduli minor girl a year back on October 10, 2017.
Addressing a Press meet here, Sagaria argued that his resignation would create an awareness among people to fight for protection of women.
” I fought a lot to provide justice to the Kunduli victim and her family. After moving from pillar to the post, I staged a dharana at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Still, the victim didn’t get justice. To expedite my fight against the State Government for protection of women, I resigned from the MLA post, said Sagaria.
He said he would submit his resignation letter to the Assembly Speaker soon after the Press meet.
