Jodhpur, Sep 20: Konark Suryas Odisha’s skipper Irfan Pathan is all excited for the challenge ahead as he is going to lead the team from Odisha in their maiden encounter against Manipal Tigers in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) here on Friday evening.
In an interaction with the media, Irfan said, “People in Odisha are too passionate about sports and are also eagerly waiting to witness their team play their first match of the tournament. We will look to give our best to take this team forward in the tournament.”
“We had a good practice in the last two days. And I must say that everyone is a professional cricketer, so they know how to do their job very well. We are also going to play against the defending champions. They have a good squad. We also have Ross Taylor, who is obviously one of the legends. Even we have Fidel Edwards as another overseas player in the squad,”he added.
This season’s first match of KonarkSuryasOdisha is against Manipal Tigers. It is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM at Barkatullah Stadium in Jodhpur.
While KonarkSuryasOdisha are a newly-formed side and are going to play their inaugural match of the tournament, Manipal Tigers are the defending champions of the league. With some specialist T20 players in both the sides, fans will surely get to witness an interesting and highly competitive match in the evening.
