Kolkata youth arrested while selling gold plate worth Rs 26 lakh in Cuttack

Cuttack, June 4: In a shocking incident, a youth from Kolakata has been arrested by Commissionerate police for selling a gold plate in Cuttack and allegedly escaping with the money. Reportedly, the arrested youth has been identified as Rakesh Dhaka of Kolkata’s West Medinipur, had sold a 500-gm gold plate at a jewelry store in the Dargah Bazaar area and collected 26 lakhs. The Commissionerate Police caught him red-handed with a bag of cash. The cops recovered 52 packets of Rs 500 notes from his possession. It has been learnt that he sold those in the form of gold plates to evade the GST. The police have notified the Income Tax Department regarding the incident. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
