Baripada, Ap 23: A passenger bus traveling from Badrabil to Kolkata collided with a truck at Dwarasuni Ghat on National Highway 49 in Bangiriposhi, Mayurbhanj district, injuring multiple passengers.

The accident occurred around 11 pm when the bus reportedly carrying more passengers than its seating capacity, lost control and crashed into the truck.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver was allegedly using a mobile phone at the time of the accident.

Two passengers sustained serious injuries, while several others suffered minor injuries. Local authorities immediately contacted the Bangiriposhi police, who rushed to the scene, provided first aid, and shifted the injured to a nearby primary health center for treatment.

The police seized the bus involved in the accident and are continuing investigations. The crash caused a temporary traffic jam at the Ghat, which has now been cleared.
