Sambalpur, Sept 11: Nuakhai, an agrarian festival, is one of the most ancient festivals. It is celebrated in western Odisha. On the occasion of Nuakhai, people worship their household deities as a mark of gratitude for bumper crops, good rain and favourable weather for farming activities.
