Kendrapada: Treasury Office Senior clerk in Vigilance net on bribe charge

Kendrapara, April 08: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended the Senior Clerk of District Treasury Office in Kendrapara while demanding and accepting a bribe. The Senior Clerk has been identified as Samara Hembrum. Reportedly, the anti-corruption team laid a trap against Santosh while demanding and accepting cash of Rs 5,000/- from the complainant in order to pass the final pension bill of his wife (Retired Teacher). Notably, the bill was pending with Hembrum for the last two months. Simultaneous searches were launched at the residential house of accused Hembrum located at Kharinasi village under Jambupolice limits in Kendrapara from a disproportionate angle (DA). In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance filed a case under section 7 of P.C Act,1988 as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Further investigation is in progress against Hembrum.
