New Delhi, Nov 2: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), pledged on Saturday to waive excessive water and electricity bills if his party regains power in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

Speaking at an event celebrating Vishwakarma Day in Transport Nagar, he emphasized his commitment to public service over traditional political tactics, stating, "I have dedicated the past 10 years to the development of the people, backed by my education from the nation’s institutions."

Kejriwal pointed to his recent imprisonment related to the Delhi liquor policy scam as a period during which the lieutenant governor managed the city, resulting in residents receiving inflated utility bills.

"Don't worry. Now that I'm out, your bills will be waived once the AAP is back in power in February," he assured attendees.

He also highlighted the achievements of his government, claiming significant progress in education, healthcare, and public transportation, including free bus services for women.

The elections for the Delhi Legislative Assembly are scheduled for February of next year.
