Ganjam: Ganjam police today arrested at least eight persons, including a juvenile, in connection with the murder of a bank cashier on Wednesday.
The body of Binay Kumar, who was working as a cashier at the Andhra Bank, was found near Mundamarai village under Dharakote police limits on Wednesday. His body was recovered with grievous injuries on head.
According to sources, the deceased had a love affair with a young woman of the area. The villagers were opposing the relationship. So, the eight accused beat Binay to death on Wednesday.
Police seized gold ornaments, three plastic pipes used to kill the cashier and mobile phones from their possession.
While the juvenile will be produced before a special court in Berhampur, the other seven accused will be produced in a local court in Aska, said Aska SDPO Suryamani Pardhan.
