Bhadrak, Feb 04: A youth has been arrested this morning in Sabarpur village under Basudevpur police limits in Bhadrak district for keeping illegal firearms. The accused named Sk Sakil identified himself as a journalist and kept threatening the villagers by brandishing the pistol. Reportedly, Earlier on Wednesday, an argument took place between Sakil and his brother for some reason. As the argument gradually got intense, his mother sought the help of the villagers to come over and help in solving the brawl. Following this, the villagers rushed to the spot and tried to stop the two brothers in between. During this time, Sakil pulled out his pistol in an enraged state of mind and threatened to fire it at his family members as well as the villagers. The locals were panic-stricken and ran away from the spot. Thereafter, Sakil’s father Sk Salaamudin immediately filed a complaint with Basudevpur police station against the accused's illegal possession of the firearm. Based on the complaint, the cops arrived at the spot and arrested Sakil. The illegal pistol along with one crore rupees cash have also been seized from his possession. In addition, the cops have also seized Sakil’s identity card and the boom of a web portal of a private news channel.
