Bhubaneswar, July 1: Dayanidhi Bagh, Joint Director of Soil Conservation and Watershed Development, Odisha, has been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance on charges of possessing disproportionate assets. He is set to be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna later today.
The arrest follows extensive searches conducted at multiple properties linked to Bagh. Preliminary investigations revealed possession of assets grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income. These include two buildings, a 3-BHK flat, approximately 84 acres of land — including two farmhouses spread over 48 acres in Nabarangpur — 312 grams of gold, bank deposits exceeding ₹58 lakh, and a benami Brezza car, among other assets.
Bagh has reportedly failed to account for the acquisition of these assets satisfactorily.
In this regard, a case has been registered under Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 24/2025. The investigation is currently ongoing.
