First quadrilateral security summit on Friday evening was significant for India in relation to its relationship with the neighbouring China , and within Jammu and Kashmir , as firm message was conveyed through the virtual meet that India is on ascendancy in its global position .
President of the United States Joe Biden has some of the common interests with India , particularly in regard to the vaccination of its population , China , and exploring of possibilities and strategies to exist Afghanistan at an earliest possible date , as its deadline of May-end is nearing.
Two other members of the QUAD alliance that became active since 2017 and has held foreign secretary and foreign ministers level summits until Friday evening when the heads of the government exchanged ideas on the new strategies to be adopted to usher conflict-less world.
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is hailed and seen as a leader committed to the Indian interests within and abroad made substantial points, and reiterated the Indian concept of world being a one family , something that is unquestionable universal truth. The idea , if implemented in letter and spirit , it can help the world to overcome many of its divisions , whether ideological or racist . The Covid-19 pandemic showed that it doesn’t recognize borders. And the Indian idea of innovation of vaccine for the Corona Virus and then distribut9ng it to the nations in need of it . It is looking beyond its borders and holds a firm message for the rest of the world that the poor need it more than others, and that, too, free of cost . This is an unquestioned manifestation of the moral leadership of India , and through the distribution of the covid vaccine .
about which the world is talking about .
This message assumes greater significance in the current situation across the world, where conflicts are rising and covering diverse expanse . The Indian diplomacy vis-à-vis China , despite a tense standoff on borders with China for about 10 months is again a lesson for the world that how the matters , howsoever complex and rife with the risk of standoff breaking into a war.
At the same time India has accepted the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan on the Line of Control , in spite of the fact that Islamabad – Rawalpindi combine has been exporting terrorism into India and bleeding it . India has dealt with the threat of terrorism by conducting surgical strikes and also intensifying counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir , but when it comes to peace , it has always taken a step forward .
The QUAD has recognized these accomplishments of India and that is the one reason that the world wants India to play a definitive role in easing tensions and ending conflict in Afghanistan . The US is keen on the Indian involvement in enabling it to end the war in Afghanistan .
While the world has its own lessons to draw from the position that India enjoys in QUAD , there are many messages for Jammu and Kashmir within the country to draw for itself. A rising India that too because of its soft power and firm belief in good relations with all its neighbours , the message for all those posing troubles in Kashmir is that there is no one in the world to support them in any anti-India activities .
